Personal Background
Jim has a family tradition with real estate- his great uncle, Walter Laufenberg, was President of the San Francisco Board of Realtors in 1932 during the Great Depression. Jim is a native of Berkeley, California and graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga with a degree in Business and Economics. While a member of the Christian Brothers religious order, “Brother James” taught high school prior to being assigned to the Christian Brothers Winery in the Napa Valley where he earned his General Contractor’s License.
In 1990 “Brother James” returned to “civilian life” in San Francisco, and in early 1993 was licensed. By the end of 1998 he was the top agent in his office. Since that time Jim has consistently ranked in the top three agents with Coldwell Banker in San Francisco and within the Top 5 for Northern California. He has served on the Boards of Directors for the San Francisco Apartment Association, California State Apartment Association, Golden Gate Business Association and the Guerneville Education Foundation.

Biography
As a native San Franciscan, Amelia loves the process of assisting newcomers and long-time residents alike find their new homes in our gorgeous city. She knows SF’s many neighborhoods effortlessly and can quickly determine a deliberate and successful home search based on a client’s preferences.
She attended SF’s French American International School as a “lifer”, where she received the International Baccalaureate in French and Chinese. Amelia speaks and writes French fluently, and has worked professionally as a French to English translator.
She attended Georgetown University in DC, where she studied Philosophy and earned a degree in Liberal Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Her love of language and travel has brought her all over the world, and she has resided in France, China, Taiwan ROC, Japan, and England. Amelia owns and manages rentals in SF, and has been licensed in Real Estate for 18 years.
She maintains a current knowledge base of the frequently changing rental regulations at the city and state level.
Amelia has “found her fit” as a successful Realtor in San Francisco. Her partnership with Jim has brought her work to a new level of fun, friendship, and dedication to doing her absolute best for clients.
